1. About These Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to your use of the website and online services operated by the Faculty of Technology Zvornik, University of East Sarajevo ("the Publisher", "we", "us" or "our") in connection with the Journal of Engineering and Processing Management ("JEPM", "the Journal"), at jepm.tfzv.ues.rs.ba.

JEPM is an open access scholarly journal intended primarily for researchers, engineers and other professionals working in chemical and environmental engineering and in food science and technology.

By accessing or using the website or its services, you agree to these Terms and to comply with applicable laws. Our Privacy Policy, which also explains our use of cookies, together with the author guidelines, publication ethics policies, copyright and licence notices and other policies published on the website, forms part of the terms applicable to your use of the services.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the website or its services.

2. Use of the Website and Content

The website and its content are provided for lawful personal, professional, educational, research and scholarly purposes.

Unless otherwise stated, the website design, text, graphics, logos, software and the compilation and arrangement of website materials are owned by or licensed to the Publisher and are protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. You may view, download, share, link to and print pages from the website for those purposes, provided that you retain all copyright and other proprietary notices.

Published articles are separate. The rights to use, reproduce, distribute, adapt or otherwise reuse an individual article are determined by the copyright and licence statement accompanying that article. JEPM publishes under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International Licence (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0), and copyright is retained by the authors. Where that licence grants broader rights than this section, the licence applies.

Licensing applies only to material for which the Journal or the relevant copyright holder has the right to grant it. An article may contain material owned by third parties, including photographs, figures, tables, illustrations, excerpts or datasets reproduced with permission. Such material may carry a credit line or notice indicating that it is excluded from the article's licence, and permission to reuse it must be obtained from the relevant copyright holder. Users are responsible for determining whether particular material is covered by the applicable article licence.

3. Accounts and Services

Some Journal services require registration, including manuscript submission, peer review and editorial work. Where registration is required, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep it reasonably up to date.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for taking reasonable steps to prevent unauthorized use of your account. Please notify us promptly if you become aware of unauthorized access.

We may suspend or terminate access to an account or service where reasonably necessary to protect the Journal, its users, the integrity of the editorial process or the security of our systems, or where these Terms or applicable law have been violated.

4. Prohibited Use

You must not use the website or its services to engage in unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive or abusive activity, to infringe the rights of others, or to interfere with the operation or security of the website.

You may not harvest personal information from the website for unsolicited or unauthorized communications, interfere with the operation of the services, or impair another person's use of the website.

You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the website, its servers or connected systems and networks, bypass security or authentication measures, or probe, scan or test the vulnerability of the website or connected systems without authorization.

Without our prior written permission, you may not place our pages within frames or use other techniques that alter the visual presentation of the website.

5. Artificial Intelligence, Automated Access and Security

Unless expressly permitted by the applicable article licence, by Journal policy, by separate authorization or by applicable law, you may not use content subject to these Terms in combination with an artificial intelligence or machine learning system for purposes such as training a model, developing or testing a system, or generating derivative content through automated processing, where such use would exceed the rights granted by the applicable licence.

This restriction does not limit uses of open access content expressly permitted by the licence accompanying the relevant article, mandatory rights under applicable law, or scholarly uses that require no additional authorization.

You may not use robots, spiders, crawlers, scraping tools, automated downloading programs or similar means to search, extract, scrape, deep-link, index or download substantial amounts of website content on a continuous or systematic basis, except where expressly permitted by us, by an applicable licence, by applicable technical standards or by law. We may introduce reasonable technical measures to protect the website from excessive or unauthorized automated access.

Where the website uses robot exclusion files, headers or similar technical instructions, you agree to respect them and not to circumvent them. Academic indexing, search engine crawling and other automated access that is expressly permitted by us, by our technical configuration or by applicable standards may continue to operate.

6. Scholarly and Technical Information

Content published by JEPM is intended for scholarly and professional purposes. It does not constitute professional engineering, technical, safety, environmental, regulatory or other professional advice, and it should not replace the independent judgment of a qualified practitioner.

Published work describes methods, processes and materials that may involve chemical, thermal, electrical, biological or other hazards, and that are subject to regulation which varies between jurisdictions and changes over time. Anyone intending to apply a published method, process or result in practice should independently verify it, carry out an appropriate risk assessment, and comply with the safety, environmental, food safety and regulatory requirements applicable to them.

The opinions expressed in JEPM are those of the authors and contributors and do not necessarily reflect those of the Editors, the Editorial Board, the Faculty of Technology Zvornik, the University of East Sarajevo, or the organizations to which the authors are affiliated.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the Publisher assumes no responsibility, direct or implied, for the contents of published papers, nor for injury, damage or loss arising from reliance on or application of any information, method, procedure, product or recommendation published or otherwise made available through the Journal.

7. Third-Party Websites and Services

The website may contain links to third-party websites, databases, repositories, indexing services or other platforms. Such links are provided for convenience or for scholarly purposes and do not necessarily constitute an endorsement. We are not responsible for the content, availability, security or privacy practices of third-party websites or services, and their use is at your own discretion.

We have no formal affiliation with external sites that link to the Journal unless specifically stated, and the existence of such a link does not imply endorsement by the Journal. If you consider any link on the website objectionable, please contact us; we will consider all requests but are under no obligation to act on them.

8. Availability and Disclaimer

We make reasonable efforts to maintain the availability and accuracy of the website and its services, but we do not guarantee that they will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure or available. Content may contain minor technical, typographical or photographic errors, and we may make changes to material on the website at any time.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, the website, its services and their content are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, and we make no warranties concerning their completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, neither the Publisher nor its suppliers shall be liable for any damages, including without limitation damages for loss of data or profit or arising from business interruption, resulting from the use of or inability to use materials on the website, even after notice of the possibility of such damage. Some jurisdictions do not allow limitations on implied warranties or on liability for consequential or incidental damages, so these limitations may not apply to you.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

9. Changes to the Services and Terms

We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of the website, its services or features where reasonably necessary.

We may also amend these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services, publishing practices, technology or applicable law. The current version is published on the Journal website together with its effective date. Your continued use of the website after an updated version takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by law.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina, subject to any mandatory provisions of applicable law. Disputes relating to these Terms or to the use of our services shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision shall be interpreted or modified to the extent necessary to make it valid and enforceable while preserving its original purpose as far as possible. If such modification is not possible, the provision shall be severed and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.

Compliance with Laws

You agree to comply with all laws and regulations applicable to your use of the website, its content and any submission you make to the Journal.

No Assignment

You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms to any other person.
