Aim and scope
The Journal of Engineering and Processing Management (JEPM) – Chemical, Environmental, Food Science and Technology (JEPM) is the official journal of the Faculty of Technology Zvornik, University of East Sarajevo. Published since 2009, JEPM advances research and practice across chemical and environmental engineering and food science and technology.
Aims
JEPM aims to advance engineering and processing research and practice through the publication of original scientific papers, review papers, professional papers, News & Views, letters to the Editor and editorials. The Editors welcome submissions reporting sound science of relevance to industry and to the research community alike, from fundamental investigation through to applied and process-scale work. The journal places particular value on work that connects laboratory findings to real processing conditions.
Scope
JEPM publishes across two broad and overlapping areas.
Chemical and Environmental Engineering
- chemical and process engineering, reaction engineering and unit operations
- separation, purification and mass transfer processes
- materials, electrochemistry, corrosion and surface engineering
- modelling, simulation and optimisation of industrial processes
- water, wastewater and surface water quality
- waste treatment, recycling and recovery of secondary raw materials
- emission control and the environmental impact of industrial processing
- energy efficiency and resource recovery in process industries
Food Science and Technology
- food processing, preservation and packaging technologies
- food chemistry, composition and functional ingredients
- food safety, contaminants and residue analysis
- quality control and assurance in food production
- nutrition, product development and enrichment
- sensory evaluation and shelf-life studies
What "Management" Means in This Journal
The word Management in the journal's title refers to the operational, technical and process management that forms an integral part of engineering disciplines, and it is not used here in the sense of business administration.
The term Management denotes the control, planning and optimisation of real processes and resources:
- Process management in chemical plants
- Waste and emission management in environmental engineering
- Quality management in food production
- Resource and energy management in industrial processing
Submissions concerned with organisational management, business administration or economics therefore fall outside the journal's scope, unless they address the engineering or processing operation itself.
Author Benefits
We offer many author benefits, including Your Paper, Your Way (YPYW). YPYW is an easier submission process that focuses on the quality of the science at the initial stages of submission, requiring only the elements needed for eventual production once the paper reaches the revision stage. You may submit your manuscript as a single Word or PDF file for use in the refereeing process, and you will be asked to put the paper into its final format only if it is invited for revision.
JEPM is a diamond open access journal. Every article is free to read and free to publish: there is no subscription charge to readers and no article processing charge to authors. Please refer to the Author Guidelines for further information before submitting.
