To evaluate the surface water quality of the Drina River basin, samples were collected from the main river and its tributaries at selected monitoring sites. A total of 17 samples were collected from various locations during the years 2023 and 2024. Various physicochemical parameters and concentrations of heavy metals were analyzed. Overall, most tested samples indicated generally good water quality in terms of physicochemical indicators. However, the findings also suggest that certain human activities have a measurable influence on water quality in the basin. The results serve as an indication of existing pollution pressures and provide a basis for further investigations on the environmental status of the Drina River.
